Postpartum eclampsia

Preeclampsia is characterized with hypertension, proteinuriaand generalized edema. Eclampsia is very rare and most severe form of preeclampsia and presented with tonic clonic seizures. Eclampsia complicates 3 in 1000 pregnancies, with higher incidence rates in twin pregnacies, nulliparous patients younger than 20 years or multiparous patients older than 35 years, women of low socioeconomic status or in developing countries (1).
Postpartum eclampsia is very rare and dramatic complication of pregnancy induced hypertension disorder and usually occur after 48 hours of delivery. We present a woman who
referred to our hospital with symptoms of preeclampsia. She developped late eclampsia after 5 days of ceaserian section.
