Publication Policies

This guideline has been prepared by Logos Medical Publishing, by examining the leading national and international institutions of the publishing sector, and it has been found appropriate and adopted by the editorial board of the journal. It is recommended that all researchers who will send their studies to the journal should examine this guide carefully. The resources and international authorities used during the preparation proces of these policies are indicated at the end of the guideline.

  • Plagiarism Policy Click Here.

Plagiarism (cheating) is a violation of ethics, regardless of whether it is intentional or not. It is a crime and an unacceptable code of conduct as it is unethical to submit, and publish manuscripts imitating other sources, with or without citing references,. Authors should not quote directly from other publication, they should give their information by using their original sentences and citing to the original publication. This also applies to self-citation. For this reason, due to publication policies Medeniyet MedJ , for all studies to be published in all of its periodicals, necessitates use of a plagiarism checker.

All studies submitted to our journal are evaluated twice using Turnitin or iThenticate software programs before being sent to the double-blind peer-review process and after passing the evaluation of the reviewers.

In our study, our criterion is not a percentage of matching. An auditing is carried out by a specialized team excluding percentages of matching but considering the parameters, such as identification of matching paragraphs, whether or not citations and references are properly written in accordance with the writing rules of the journal, the places of the matching sentences/paragraphs in the article, and the sources with which they are matched. The prepared plagiarism report is sent to the relevant editor of the study. In consideration of the report, the editorial board may request from the author correction of the errors in the manuscript and sent it again or accept or reject it. The acceptance of the study is on the initiative of the Editor-in-Chief.

The Editorial Board  acts in accordance with the COPE rules against allegations, and suspicions related to plagiarism, citation manipulation and fraudulent misrepresentation of the works submitted to the journal.

  • Ethical Policy Click Here.

Submission is considered on the conditions that papers are previously unpublished, and are not offered simultaneously elsewhere; that authors have read and approved the content, and all authors have also declared all competing interests; and that the work complies with the Ethical Approval and has been conducted under internationally accepted ethical standards. If ethical misconduct is suspected, the Editorial Board will act in accordance with the relevant international rules of publication ethics (i.e., COPE guidelines).

    Human and Anımal Rıghts
The policy of the journal is respectful of the Human and Animal Rights.. If the work involves the use of human or animal subjects, an approval of research protocols by an ethics committee in accordance with international agreements (“WMA Declaration of Helsinki - Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects, October 2013, Fortaleza, Brazil”, "Guide for the care and use of laboratory animals, 8th edition, 2011" and/or “International Guiding Principles for Biomedical Research Involving Animals, 2012”) is required for all research studies. Authors should include a statement in the manuscript that informed consent was obtained for experimentation with human subjects. The privacy rights of human subjects must always be observed. For all retrospective or prospective human studies and animal studies, ethics committee approval should be obtained and should be uploaded to the system during manuscript submission..

As a publisher that is aware of the fact that information should be easily accessible for the advancement of scientific studies Logos Publishing supports the open access initiative declared in Budapest Open Access Initiative which states that the peer-reviewed journal literature should be open access, and offers all the published articles free of charge in an environment where everyone can read and download. • Conflict of Interest Click Here.

Conditions that provide financial or personal benefit bring about a conflict of interest. The reliability of the scientific process and the published articles is directly related to the objective consideration of conflicts of interest during the planning, implementation, writing, evaluation, editing, and publication of scientific studies.

Financial relations are the most easily identified conflicts of interest and it is inevitable that they will undermine the credibility of the journal, the authors, and the science. These conflicts can be caused by individual relations, academic competition, or intellectual approaches. The authors should refrain as much as possible from making agreements with sponsors in the opinion of gaining profit or any other advantage that restrict their ability to access to all data of the study or analyze, interpret, prepare, and publish their articles In order to prevent conflicts of interest, editors should refrain from bringing together those who may have any relationship between them during the evaluation of the studies. The editors, who make the final decision about the articles, should not have any personal, professional or financial ties with any of the issues they are going to decide. Authors should inform the editorial board concerning potential conflicts of interest to ensure that their articles will be evaluated within the framework of ethical principles through an independent assessment process.

If one of the editors is an author in any manuscript, the editor is excluded from the manuscript evaluation process. In order to prevent any kind of conflict of interest, the article evaluation process is carried out as double-blinded. Because of the double-blinded evaluation process, except for the Editor-in-Chief, none of the editorial board members, international advisory board members, or reviewers are informed about the authors of the manuscript or institutions of the authors.

Our publication team works devotedly to ensure that the evaluation process is conducted in an impartial manner, taking all these situations into consideration.

You can review the related link to get more detailed information about conflict of interest. The conflict of interest form that each author has to sign must be uploaded during the manuscript submission.
