Staging laparoscopy for determinating resectablity of pancreatic cancer: Evaluation of four cases under the light of the literature

Pancreatic cancer remains a highly lethal disease in spite of new developments in early diagnosis and marked improvements in surgical morbidity and mortality. An important goal
in the treatment of patients with pancreatic cancer is to avoid unnecessary prosedures. Staging laparoscopy has been inroduced to prevent patients with advanced tumor disease from unnecessary laparotomy and as a diagnostic tool in neoadjuvant treatment protocols. The results of staging laparoscopy in four patients with pancreatic cancer discussed under the light of literature.
