A delayed posttraumatic hernia

Traumatic diaphragmatic hernia; is the known result of the blunt or penetrating thoracoabdominal trauma, on the other hand it’s commonly ignored complication. The diagnosis can be delayed even month or years if there are no contributing radiologic findings, signs at physical examination after acute period. The most important point at the diagnosis of diaphragmatic hernia after blunt or penetrating trauma in the remembering
the possibility if a detailed history is not taken the diagnosis and treatment may be delayed. For this reason a detailed history will help the diagnosis. In this article a penetrating
thoracoabdominal trauma which had clinical signs after 2 months has been discussed accompanied with literature.
